Sibling Fighting (Part I)

There is a hot button topic that I wanted to focus on for May. It’s a topic that I’m sure every parent of more than 2 children has experienced or are currently experiencing. It’s sibling fighting.

I’m sure there have been days that you have wanted to pull your hair out from all of the yelling, crying, and fighting. Well, take a deep breath and pull up a seat. I’m here to help!

In this video, I’m going to address the following 3 questions:

  • Why do siblings fight?
  • What is the #1 thing you can do as a parent when your children begin to fight?
  • What are various ways you can do that one thing?

After you have practiced the suggestions made in the video, come back here or to my Facebook page and let me know what you observed among your children and yourself. I really want to hear back from you.

I hope you enjoy this video!

Happy Parenting!

Dear Kathleen, Your video on sibling fighting is a godsend to me! I just didnt know what to do so this is of HUGE help. Maybe you could address what to do if they get physical with each other as mine tend to do?

    Yours gratefully

How lovely to hear from you. Thanks for the tip for an upcoming video. I’d be delighted to address when they get physical. What ages are your kids?

My kids are 9 (boy) and 6 (girl) and they are both very strong characters and ehilst I may tell them to take their argument elsewhere, it can quickly degenerate into slaps that get worse, and then the little one comes very quickly to me for sympathy (though she may have started the slaps) and the older feels bad and assumes he will get all the blame.
